Tree Decorating Guidelines

A major part of the fund raising efforts will be during the tree auction on December 4, 2008. Donated items under the trees are recommended and encouraged. This will raise the value of your tree at time of auction. All decorators will have access to the Bear Hotel from November 19 through November 20 to decorate.

1. 7 1/2 ft. pre-lit artificial trees are provided. Your tree should convey a cohesive theme with color, concept, decorating, and gift items. Donated items under the trees are recommended and encouraged. The Festival reserves the right to deem what is appropriate, both in theme development, and individual items under your tree. A well- planned tree theme helps increase the sale price of the tree. Please register your theme with the Creative Design Committee Chair to avoid duplications. Please submit your theme no later than September 1, 2008.
2. All sponsors and decorators will be acknowledged in the program and on individual tree signage. See sponsor page for additional listed benefits.
3. All donated items will become the property of the Rogue Winterfest.
4. All items must be suitable for someone's home, office, or business.
5. No living plants or animals may be used.
6. No advertising is permitted on the entries.
7. All decorations must be wired or hot-glued securely to the trees as they will be moved from the Bear Hotel to the new owners, on December 5, 2008.
8. A tree skirt or other covering must be part of your tree.
9. For the Auction: Please provide the Event Coordinator with a typed 1/2 page list of items on or under your tree and their value plus any information that you think would be of interest to the bidders by Nov. 1, 2008.
10. For Tree Signage: Please provide decorators names and no more than twenty-five word tree description by Nov. 1, 2008.
11. Decorating: All trees will be delivered to the Bear Hotel and set up by 9:00am November 19. Decorators will have Wednesday, Nov. 19 from 9:00am to 7:00pm and Thursday, Nov. 20 from 9:00am to 7:00pm to decorate. Design sponsors and decorators are responsible for complete set-up no later than 12:00 noon on Friday, November 21, 2008.
12. Unassembled trees are stored at Options on G Street. If you are decorating your tree elsewhere, please make arrangements to pick up your tree at Options. You must deliver your decorated tree to the Bear Hotel no later than 12:00pm Wednesday, November 19.
